How it works

What is the process, how do I get my tickets?

Academiadevidtickets.com typically confirms tickets or tours within minutes, 24 hours a day:

accademiadavidtickets.com is a licensed reservation agent for ticket booking for Italian state museums and popular destinations across Italy. For many of these, reservation is compulsory – for those where it isn’t, you may well face long, long queues. For example, when visiting the Uffizi Gallery in Florence, figure an hour or two standing in the queue, and it’s not unheard of for people to be queuing for three or four hours!

What is the point of risking any of this? If you have several hours to wander around the city, why waste any of that time standing in line?

What do I need to do?

Please fill out our booking form, indicate your first – and sometimes second – preference for date and time (dates are in European day-month-year format), and supply us with your credit card information.

Here is a page that outlines typical costs and the advantages of booking with us.

After placing your order, you will receive login details for a secure ‘order status’ page. From there, you’ll be able to print out or download your vouchers once we have confirmed availability. You can print your voucher or E-vouchers are also accepted. Take it with you to the venue, and present it at the ticket desk … it will be exchanged for your entry ticket. It’s that simple!

The booking process is conducted on a secure server, and payments are handled by Stripe Secure Online Payments. We recommend booking as far in advance as possible (at least 20 days) and providing us with alternate dates/times in case your first preference is not available. If you reserve well in advance, it should typically be possible to use your first preference.

Stripe and card payments

Until we confirm your reservation, you will not be charged anything. However, some banks may show a charge when, in fact, it is just a hold on your card.

As an explanation, when you enter your credit card details during checkout, Stripe checks the information and preauthorizes your payment, which effectively holds the amount. As soon as the order is confirmed, we charge/debit the amount of the confirmed order. If the order is not approved, the ‘hold’ is released.

With some cards/banks, we have seen that the ‘hold’ amount actually shows as a debit in error. What should happen, which is standard with Stripe, is that the hold amount is invisible, only showing up as a debit when the transaction is ‘captured’ (confirmed by us).

What happens then?

We typically process ‘Rapid confirmation’ tickets within 10 minutes, 24 hours a day. Normally, we will contact you within 24 hours of ordering other products that require local confirmation. On Mondays, our offices are closed, but we are still able to answer emails and process orders – we have staff online 24 hours a day and can confirm tours on short notice.

The vouchers will be emailed to you when they are ready for printing – many of our tickets and tours are now perfectly valid as e-tickets, and you will be notified when and if you need to print them out during the order process; you can also check the status of your order at any time to see if it is ready to print.

If this does not happen, please contact [email protected]. Here is our general contact page, and we have a page with all the information you need about the voucher process and how far in advance you can book.

It is important to note the following:

Admission will not be granted if you do not arrive at the venue at the time specified on your booking voucher. Please allow at least a couple of hours between visiting the Accademia and the Uffizi if you plan to visit both on the same day.

Also, please be prepared to show some form of identification. It can sometimes be difficult for Italian officials to comprehend that not all countries require their citizens to carry ID cards, even if they are issued there. You will often find that nothing other than a Passport or Driving Licence (with a photograph) will suffice.Tickets can be purchased without hassle, without uncertainty, and without wasting time.

There is also information about our cancellation policy on this page.

Cancellation and refund policy

When filling out the booking form, please be careful – once the form has been submitted, no refunds can be made, so make sure you have entered the correct dates and provided a valid email address. We are closed on Mondays and on important national holidays. Upon returning to work, we will reply as soon as possible. You should assume that if you do not hear from us within three working days, we either have an incorrect email address or your ISP/Server is blocking our reply. If you do not hear from us within three working days, please contact us again.

Your order is processed through a Secure Server, but the charge to your card is not immediate. You will only be notified when the gallery(ies) confirm a reservation, and a charge will be made to your credit card by Florence Specialist for Small Group Tours SRLS., the parent company of accademiadavidtickets.com.

On this page, you can view the full terms and conditions.
